Cruisin' for a Cause at Van Mall

Van Mall is more than a retirement community. We are proud to be part of the larger Vancouver, Washington community and we look for opportunities to give back where we can. Our residents enjoy the opportunity to be part of something bigger than themselves, and it’s our privilege to help residents find purpose and meaning by giving back to their city.

Making a Difference in Vancouver

Van Mall Car ShowShare provides food, shelter, housing, education, advocacy, and compassion to the hungry and homeless in the Vancouver, Washington area. Van Mall recently donated proceeds from our 9th Annual Cruisin’ for a Cause to help Share’s mission in our county.

Our community hosted a car show that brought generations of families together to raise money while having fun. We had a DJ onsite that played music and also hosted games to inspire the crowd to donate. Additionally, we hosted a 50/50 raffle, had a raffle table with over 30 prizes, and sold baked goods at a community bake sale. Our amazing Fireside restaurant provided attendees with a summer barbecue. Our efforts paid off, and we were able to raise over $1,900 during the three-hour car show.Raffle Winner at Van Mall Car Show

Residents enjoyed walking back through time and relieving the past while looking at the classic cars. Van Mall resident Paula John remarked,

“I love getting to see all the old cars. It just brings me back to my youth.”
