The Landing of Stow is partnering with the Stow Police Department and the SWAT Team to educate the community on surviving an active shooter incident. Unfortunately, knowing what to do when faced with an active shooter is becoming increasingly necessary. Please join us for this important and engaging presentation.
Active Shooter Training: Preparedness in Chaos Saves Lives
The Department of Homeland Security defines an active shooter as “an individual actively engaged in killing or attempting to kill people in a confined and populated area; in most cases, active shooters use firearm(s) and there is no pattern or method to their selection of victims.”
It’s an unthinkable and terrifying scenario, but one that many people are forced to face. Unfortunately, an active shooter incident can happen at any time and at any place. These incidents are unpredictable and evolve quickly. In fact, most active shooter situations end within 10 to 15 minutes – sometimes before law enforcement can arrive on the scene. By providing community-wide active shooter trainings authorities can effectively train civilians to respond and react quickly and appropriately, making quick, real-time decisions that can save lives.
Active Shooter Presentation at The Landing of Stow
The Landing of Stow is partnering with local law enforcement to invite the larger community and all residents to an Active Shooter Presentation. On Saturday, April 14 at 9:30 am, Officer Ryan Schulz, a member of the Stow police team, a tactical member on METRO SWAT, and a SWAT Team Leader will share his extensive knowledge on handling active shooter scenarios.
Light refreshments will be served. Please RSVP to 330.342.0934 by Monday, April 9 and join us for this important training.
