Investing in Exceptional Leaders at Leisure Care

General Manager and Leadership Conference

Alissa Sauer

At Leisure Care, we believe that by nurturing exceptional leaders, we can deliver extraordinary senior living experiences every single day. We know that we are not just in the business of senior living; we are in the pursuit of excellence, delivering nothing short of exceptional experiences for today’s older adults. To achieve this lofty goal, we understand that we need an extraordinary team that can consistently deliver extraordinary results. That’s why we make it a priority to gather community leaders annually for a transformative leadership conference—a place where we cultivate creativity and learn the art of being truly exceptional.

Leisure Care’s general managers and home office leadership gathered for a four-day retreat at Chateau Elan Winery and Resort near Atlanta. This conference emphasized our core values while uniting communities and inspiring excellence that General Managers will bring back to their local communities.

Chief Operating Officer Ryan Rasar and Chief Strategy Officer Bre Grubbs set the tone for the conference with a keynote that explored the art and science of being exceptional by embracing, embodying, and exemplifying the Leisure Care Difference.

“What sets Leisure Care communities apart from other senior living options is our approach to well-being; the essentials of a life well-lived that are woven throughout all of our signature programs and experienced in our communities each and every day. Our exceptional general managers bring these essentials to life, tailor our signature programs to the desires and abilities of their residents, and create a vibrant experience for all.” – Bre Grubbs, Chief Strategy Officer

To help take the big idea of being exceptional and turn it into tactical applications, our General Managers attended four dynamic breakout sessions; each one focused on giving them the tools they need to elevate our Leisure Care communities to world-class status.

  • Leisure Care World-Class Community
  • The Art of Emotional Intelligence
  • Finding and Choosing A-level Employees
  • Best in Care

Striking a Balance

Of course, we balanced the work with some play and the education with some inspiration. We celebrated the incredible achievements of our communities, recognizing their outstanding culture, impeccable first impressions, exceptional food and beverage programs, innovative assisted living and memory care programs, remarkable occupancy rates, significant census gains, and unparalleled PrimeFit programs, as well as by recognizing our dedicated plant operations and housekeeping teams.

Our annual awards ceremony recognized the communities that had earned the coveted Best of Senior Living Badges from U.S. News and World Report, as well as those honored for their philanthropic efforts. We applauded the Rookie of the Year, Ed Corsi from Azalea at Cinnaminson, and the Executive of the Year, Jamie Bravato of Fairwinds – Spokane, shining a spotlight on their remarkable contributions. The conference closed with inspirational remarks from our visionary CEO, Dan Madsen, who reminded us all of the immeasurable impacts we have in transforming the lives of employees, residents, and their families every day.

At Leisure Care, we firmly believe that exceptional leadership is the cornerstone of delivering extraordinary experiences. Through our annual leadership conference and similar events, we empower our team with the tools, knowledge, and inspiration necessary to redefine and reimagine retirement in a new age of senior living.
