Independent living is a type of senior living, along with assisted living and memory care. In assisted living, residents receive assistance with activities of daily living, or ADLs. ADLs typically include dressing, grooming, incontinence care, and medication management. In memory care, residents receive services for Alzheimer’s disease and related forms of dementia.
