Ryan Rasar Named ’20 of 2020′

Ryan Rasar, Partner and Chief Operating Officer of Leisure Care, has been named in the 20 of 2020 Awards, honoring 20 business people in Washington State for exceptional actions during the COVID-19 pandemic.

During the COVID-19 pandemic, much well-deserved attention was given to first responders, medical personnel, and essential workers on the front lines. At the same time, business people worked smarter than ever, keeping the economy alive, feeding those in need, and helping us all cope with new economic realities.

To honor the business people who have done so much for the Washington State economy over the past year, the 20 of 2020 Awards will be a virtual one-year event. The awards, led by Seattle’s own former publisher of the Puget Sound Business Journal, Mike Flynn, will be emceed by Pat Cashman.

Ryan has been a crucial part of the Leisure Care team since 2000. Inspired by the care his grandmother received at a Leisure Care community, Ryan eventually became the community manager and joined the Leisure Care home team office in 2004. Ryan is charged with overseeing the communities’ operational leaders, representing the operations team with worker’s compensation, and has initiated key objectives to lower the number of workplace injuries.

Throughout the pandemic, Ryan led Leisure Care senior communities through rapidly changing health protocols implementing new policies and procedures that enabled Leisure Care communities to exceed CDC standards. Known for “Five-Star Fun,” Leisure Care communities balanced health and fun in a way that consistently kept residents socially engaged and physically distant.

Outside of work, Ryan spearheads efforts to help the homeless in the Seattle community and spends his free time with his family, mentoring youth in the community, and spending time outdoors.
