A Place at the Table: Bringing Generations Together

“Come over for dinner.”

It’s an invitation grandparents have been making for generations. At Leisure Care, we want residents to keep making it, but with a chef doing the cooking, giving families more time to enjoy the company.

Our new PrimeFit Wellness™ Kids Menu, launched November 1, gives residents’ grandchildren and great-grandchildren a welcome of their own. With food younger guests will enjoy and cups and crayons ready for the table, it’s another reason to bring the family over and stay awhile.

Little Guests, Big Appetites

A great family meal has something for everyone. With the kids’ menu, our chefs can customize offerings with a mix of healthy choices and familiar favorites, keeping younger guests’ tastes in mind.

For residents, it’s an opportunity to host the people they love without handling the cooking or cleanup. They can introduce grandchildren to their neighbors, catch up over lunch, and enjoy being together. Our culinary teams will handle the rest.

When Generations Gather

Time together gives grandparents and grandchildren opportunities to share what they know, discover common interests, and see things from a different perspective. For families, that might look like:

• A conversation over lunch to introduce children to the people, places, and traditions that shaped their family
• Grandparents sharing a favorite hobby or life lesson, while grandchildren bring their own interests and discoveries to the table
• Regular visits to give grandparents and grandchildren time to learn more about each other’s lives
• Creating something to look forward to as a meal together can become a favorite family tradition

Intergenerational programming is a priority in Leisure Care communities because it encourages communication, supports shared learning, and builds a stronger sense of community.

We make room for these relationships through family visits, shared celebrations, and intentional programming, such as gingerbread house building and youth mentorship.

Our new kids’ menu offers yet another reason to get together. No special event required. Just pull up a chair.

What Is PrimeFit Wellness™?

PrimeFit Wellness™ is Leisure Care’s signature approach to well-being, supporting residents’ physical, mental, emotional, social, and communal health. It reaches beyond the fitness center and into everyday community life, including dining, activities, and opportunities to connect.

We believe wellness can happen during a workout, while exploring a new interest, or over a meal with someone you love. Residents have opportunities to keep doing what matters to them, along with support to try something new.

The kids’ menu puts that approach into practice around the family table. Alongside healthy choices, it makes room for conversation, laughter, and the pleasure of welcoming grandchildren into your home.

The next visit doesn’t need to be a special occasion. Come after the game. Stop by after school. Find a day that works and put lunch with Grandma on the calendar.
