Unlocking Career Opportunities with Leisure Care

Leisure Care Career Development

Alissa Sauer

At Leisure Care, we know that happy employees are the best employees, and the best employees lead the happiest communities. It’s a cycle where everyone wins – residents, families, and especially our employees. It’s one reason we consistently and constantly seek to identify standout employees looking to grow their careers within our communities – investing in them as they invest in our residents.

Take a closer look at how Leisure Care is investing in employees through professional development programs and meet our newest GRIT graduate!

A Commitment to Core Values

At Leisure Care, our core values are more than words on our website. They are our standard operating procedure. Our employees live out their core values every day by:

  • Practicing well-being: We take care of ourselves holistically to deliver exceptional care and service to others.
  • Striking a balance: We promote a “Three-Thirds Lifestyle,” putting family first, giving back to the community second, and finally, contributing meaningfully to our work environment.
  • Having permission to play: Employees are empowered to lead autonomously, create a positive work environment, and pursue growth opportunities.
  • Leaving their mark: We strive to make a positive impact on our community, our residents, and each other through philanthropy, hospitality, and care.
  • Breaking the mold: Ideas thrive here. We welcome creative thinking and action that can lead to a new approach to our solutions and service.

This means that happy employees, leading balanced lives, arrive at work ready to leave their mark. In return, they create an unparalleled senior living experience for our residents and their families.

Cultivating Leadership and Fostering Growth through Professional Development

So, how do we keep our employees happy? That’s simple. We invest in them. We put our resources into employees who are showing up and going above and beyond for our residents and their families. We are constantly and consistently looking for the next generation of leaders in senior living.

We have several professional development programs for stand-out employees. Guiding, Recognizing, and Inspiring Talent (GRIT) is one of our more rigorous programs that encourage employees to build personal and professional skills in different areas of community life. Because, in many ways, senior living communities are microcosms of a larger community, a career in senior living can be incredibly varied. From hospitality management and reception services to cooking and healthcare, senior living draws people with a wide range of interest and backgrounds. GRIT encourages employees to seek development in the areas that interest them most. GRIT is divided into four courses: freshman, sophomore, junior, and senior.

Meet the Newest GRIT Graduate!

Hannah DeNune from Hawthorne Court is the most recent sophomore GRIT graduate!

Hannah DeNune“I have had the pleasure of working with Hannah for many years! I first met her when I was General Manager helping fill in at a sister community, and then over the last seven years, I have had the pleasure to work with her community as the Operations Director. She believes deeply in the community, loves the residents, and their team has a very strong family bond. Hannah first started the GRIT program in the Spring of 2022 and was anxious and enthusiastic to move on to the Sophomore program. Her engagement and participation are always top-notch! She recently completed her Sophomore Capstone Project on the Life Enhancement Program and has already accepted a spot in our Junior GRIT Program.” – Holli Korb, Operations Director

Congratulations, Hannah! We can’t wait to see how you positively impact your residents, their families, and the future of senior living in the coming years!
