- Fairwinds - Brittany Park
Classic cars filled the parking lot at Fairwinds – Brittany Park last week for our Classic Car Show, and while the cars were beautiful, the best part of the evening was seeing how many people the event brought together. Residents, families, neighbors, and local car enthusiasts spent the evening swapping stories over ice cream and enjoying a live Neil Diamond tribute performance.
See how Fairwinds – Brittany Park intentionally creates community through fun events like their Classic Car Show.
Connections, Community, and Classic Cars
At Fairwinds – Brittany Park independent living and assisted living, it’s all about community! Our residents aren’t wrapping up their life’s journey; they’re seeking a new one. And we’re here to inspire them to embrace joy and purpose with the most fulfilling, rewarding, and productive opportunities possible.
That spirit was clear at our recent Car Show, where every car sparked a conversation.
Our annual Car Show is hosted in partnership with the Woodinville Cruisers Car Club. Founded by local real estate broker Rich McKee, the club brings people together through automotive events that support local causes. It also helps fund scholarships for students in the Automotive Technology and Auto Body programs at Lake Washington Institute of Technology.
Rich believes every vehicle has a story. Throughout the evening, our residents shared plenty of their own. That is what made the Car Show feel so much like Fairwinds – Brittany Park: people connecting, welcoming new faces, and enjoying a summer evening together. Residents Joan and Elaine had the chance to pose beside cars made in 1930, the year they were born. Other residents spotted models they once owned, while the 1960s Mustangs brought back memories of first cars, weekend drives, and special moments from years past. One generous car enthusiast invited residents Earl and Cheryl to join him for a neighborhood drive.
Neighbors from throughout the area joined us, too. A young Bellevue family came after seeing the event on Facebook and spent the evening sharing their love of classic cars. A local couple stopped by to see the vehicles and stayed for refreshments and dinner from the Brittany Park Bistro. They later sent a kind note thanking the team for making them feel so welcome.
