COVID-19 Vaccines Arrive at Leisure Care Communities

The last year has been challenging on so many levels. Leisure Care communities have remained committed to doing the right thing across the country, adapting to rapidly changing safety protocols, and implementing policies and procedures that exceed CDC guidelines. We are proud of our staff and our residents and the way they have handled a difficult situation. As we continue to practice social distancing guidelines, our communities are now celebrating the arrival of the COVID-19 vaccine. Five-Star Fun Meets Five-Star Gratitude

We are unspeakably grateful for the healthcare workers and scientists who held the front lines of the pandemic, working harder than ever to create a vaccine that would better protect us from the negative effects of COVID-19.

Leisure Care communities are known for offering residents top-notch senior care, with a healthy dose of FUN! Our commitment to Five-Star Fun remains strong, even as we acknowledge the gravity of the pandemic. Creatively combining our commitment to FUN with our gratitude and appreciation for the development of the vaccine, many Leisure Care communities hosted socially distanced parties while distributing shots.

One community even had a “Shots for Shots” party where residents were given cocktails and shots at the vaccination clinic. Other communities gave residents the opportunity to post photos with a sign saying why they chose to be vaccinated. Others handed out cans of Crush soda, symbolizing the ‘crushing’ of the virus.
