The staff and residents at Washington Oakes independent living and assisted living in Everett, WA, live by The Three-Thirds Lifestyle. The Three-Thirds Lifestyle is Leisure Care’s commitment to balance family, community, and work. By prioritizing all three, we ensure that each Leisure Care community is continually improving the areas where they work, live, and play. Take a closer look at how Washington Oakes serves their local area with a mitten drive this winter.

Helping the Homeless Stay Warm in Washington

2020 has left many families struggling. To help those in need this winter, Washington Oakes senior living patterned with Housing Hope to host their first mitten drive, collecting winter clothing to donate. Housing Hope works to reduce provers and homelessness in the Everett, WA community and helps the homeless by providing affordable housing, childcare, life-skill training, employment services, and more.

Through their drive, they were able to donate,

  • 120 pairs of gloves
  • 11 pairs of socks
  • 16 scarves
  • 18 children’s outfits
  • 37 store-bought hats
  • 74 resident-made hats

In the span of one month, the team at Washington Oakes donated 276 articles of winter clothing. We are inspired by the residents and staff at Washington Oakes who donated their time and money to help the homeless in their community.

We would love for you to join us on our mission to positively impact the areas where we live, work, and play. Contact Washington Oakes today for a private in-person tour or a virtual consultation, and join our Leisure Care family!
