About Fortune’s Best Workplaces Award

GPTW_Aging ServicesThe Fortune Best Workplaces in Aging Services™ award is a coveted award that is the result of an extensive evaluation process conducted by Great Place To Work, an organization renowned for its comprehensive workforce studies. The methodology behind the award involves an in-depth analysis of over 1 million employee survey responses and data from companies representing more than 6.1 million employees.

To qualify for consideration, companies must be Great Place To Work-Certified™ and operate within the aging services industry. The survey evaluates employees’ responses to 60 statements on a 5-point scale, allowing them to provide confidential quantitative and qualitative feedback about their organization’s culture. These statements collectively define a great employee experience characterized by trust, respect, credibility, fairness, pride, and camaraderie.

Equality & Quality Meet at Leisure Care

One of the standout features of the award process is its commitment to ensuring equity and quality in the workplace. Great Place To Work measures differences in survey responses across demographic groups and roles within each organization to assess the quality and consistency of the employee experience. Statements are weighted based on their relevance in describing equitable workplaces.

Companies, regardless of their size, are required to survey employees, with larger companies allowed to survey a random sample. This ensures that the award genuinely reflects the sentiments of the workforce. In addition to survey data, company-provided data points are considered to provide context, but only survey data can secure a place on the list.

To maintain the award’s integrity, Great Place To Work reviews statistical significance in survey results, scrutinizes anomalies in responses, assesses news and financial performance, and investigates any reports of non-compliance with surveying rules. Data normalization is also implemented to compare companies across different sizes fairly. Companies with 10 to 999 employees are considered in the small and medium categories, while those with 1,000 employees or more compete in the large category.
