More than a retirement community, we pride ourselves on our hospitality and want our residents to enjoy every day of retirement. Part of life at Canfield Place means getting out and exploring all that the local area has to offer. Our prime location in breathtaking Oregon lends itself perfectly to adventures in the great outdoors.

Per the request of our residents, we took a trip to the Columbia River Gorge, which included viewing the Multnomah Falls and lunch in a nearby historic lodge. Columbia River Gorge is a canyon in the Columbia River, stretching for over 80 miles through the Cascade Mountain Range, forming the border between Washington and Oregon. In the Columbia River Gorge lies Multnomah Falls, the tallest waterfall in the state at 620 feet high. Accessible from the Historic Columbia River Highway our residents enjoyed scenic views of the fall season on our way to the waterfall.

“I’ve never been up to the Columbia River Gorge, what a site it was!” – Eileen Spittler

“It’s just so big, you don’t realize it until you see it in person. Absolutely beautiful and lunch was great!” – Shirley Wagner
