Like most things in 2020, Halloween looks a little different this year. Pumpkin patches are a hallmark of the fall season but are difficult to host with current social distancing restrictions. The Landing of North Haven senior living went above and beyond to host a community-wide pumpkin patch while still adhering to CDC guidelines.

Spreading Fall Fun in North Haven, CT

The Landing of North Haven recently hosted a community-wide pumpkin patch. The family-friendly event hosted for the larger North Haven community and surrounding areas including over 300 pumpkins carved by residents, students, and volunteers. All pumpkins were lit as more than 800 cars drove through a night at the pumpkin patch.

“The weather was perfect, our residents loved watching all the excitement, and it felt terrific to be the catalyst that brought the community together to enjoy a family-friendly event amidst this crazy pandemic.” – Donna Naparstek, Sales and Marketing Director

The drive-thru event was free and donations were accepted for the North Haven Rotary Club. Throughout the event, safety remained the top priority. Plastic bags with candy were distributed by team members wearing masks and gloves and donations were accepted in a pumpkin bucket, creatively bringing Halloween fun to the North Haven area while practicing social distancing.
