Bringing the Fall Farmers Market Home to Fairwinds – Spokane

Nothing compares to fall in Washington. As the leaves change and cooler weather moves in, Fairwinds – Spokane senior living came together to celebrate the changing season and serve the local community. In the past, residents at Fairwinds – Spokane have enjoyed outings to local farmer’s markets. This year, we decided to bring the farmers market to our community, allowing more residents to enjoy the fruits of the season in a safer way.

On October 17, 2020, we set up a farmers market outside the community. Residents were able to pick fresh fall produce, sample freshly baked goods, try caramel apples, and taste a variety of gourmet cheeses. Residents also enjoyed pumpkin donuts, hot cider, and pumpkin spiced lattes while listening to local country music artist Luke Yates perform. All produce, baked goods, and treats were free of charge. Donations were accepted benefitting Second Chance Ranch, a local nonprofit.

The market was spread out in front of the community, promoting social distancing, and following all health guidelines and protocols. The event was open to families, friends, and guests who were invited to enjoy the event from their cars.

At Fairwinds – Spokane senior living, we are always looking for new and creative ways to do the right thing while having Five-Star Fun! Contact us today to learn more about our independent living and assisted living services.
