Achieving Fitness Goals at MacKenzie Place – Fort Collins

Residents at MacKenzie Place – Fort Collins are encouraged to stay active and healthy by participating in a variety of classes and events through our innovative PrimeFit program. PrimeFit is a comprehensive fitness program designed to help seniors set and meet goals, ensuring functional fitness through age.

MacKenzie Place – Fort Collins residents were recently challenged to exercise for 30 days in a 40 day period. To complete the challenge, residents needed to perform a minimum of 30 minutes of exercise five days per week. The challenge was implemented to encourage residents to begin or maintain an exercise regimen before the hectic holiday season.

“I got back into my morning yoga routine and I forgot how much it helped my back. I feel great!” – Marilyn, resident at MacKenzie Place 

27 residents signed up for the challenge and nearly 80% of the participants completed the challenge. We surprised finishers with a healthy lunch and a glass of wine. Residents said the challenge encouraged them to get back into the gym daily, try new classes, and helped them exercise regularly, even when they didn’t feel like it.
