Van Mall Senior Living Celebrates Resident Acheivements

At Van Mall senior living in Vancouver, WA, we value the life history of each resident, getting to know their life story on an individual level and then using that knowledge to design activities and events that are interesting and engaging. For example, our residents recently participated in a “These Hands” project for a meaningful Mother’s Day and Father’s Day work of art.

To celebrate Mother’s Day and Father’s Day, our residents worked on a “These Hands” project. The project included art taken from photos of residents’ hands and answers to questions.

The answers to the questions were compiled to the following facts about ‘these hands’:

These hands have loved for over 749 years.
These hands have raised over 54 children.
These hands have worked as bookkeepers, truck drivers, secretaries, homemakers, teachers, farmers, preachers, mechanics, and more.
These hands have fun playing Bingo, golfing, gardening, reading, playing beanbag baseball, crafting, listening to books, being social, playing games, and loving love.
These hands are valued, important, and loved.
