As stay-at-home orders have spread throughout the nation, Leisure Care communities are committed to delivering Five-Star Fun in a new and creative way. The team at Fairwinds – Spokane is paving the way, engaging residents online while doing their part to keep residents healthy and well.

Delivering Five-Star Fun Virtually

Living in unprecedented times means that we have to look at doing things in a new way. As we seek to adapt and overcome while also fulfilling our promise of Five-Star Fun, Leisure Care communities across the country are looking for new and creative ways to deliver.

Residents in independent living and assisted living at Fairwinds – Spokane have been using social media and online tools to engage with each other in creative ways. While the physical community is quieter, their virtual lives have become a lot louder.

“During this time we’re just trying to be even more creative in what we can do with our residents. It’s been just a lot of fun seeing what the possibilities are with these different restrictions now,” Jamie Bravato, General Manager

A recent video posted showed the team at Fairwinds – Spokane lip-syncing to “My Heart Will Go On”, telling the residents they miss seeing them in social settings. The residents responded back, lip-syncing the same song.

The staff created a public service announcement reminding residents to wash their hands, posted photos of residents offering to trade toilet paper, and had a spring getaway to the lobby (while still adhering to social distancing guidelines) with a cold drink and inflatable palm trees.
