Leisure Care communities all over the country are making lemonade out of lemons! The past few weeks have brought a lot of change to the lives of Americans, and especially the lives of our residents. However, our commitment to our residents and Five-Star Fun remains unchanging and a recent Facebook post from Fairwinds – Spokane proves it!
Fairwinds – Spokane Grants Resident Wishes
As Leisure Care communities react to COVID-19 and new protocols surrounding the pandemic, Fairwinds – Spokane decided to make the best of it. The staff asked residents what items they would trade their toilet paper for and posted the results on Facebook.
“Jennifer Neeley, Programs Supervisor, presented the idea to us because she wanted to bring some humor to the current situation. Our residents really enjoy staying active and being involved in various activities so Jennifer wanted to get them involved in the current trend of overbuying/trading of Toilet Paper. Residents thought the idea was hilarious and jumped onboard. The best part was granting their wishes and seeing their reaction. Some of these residents have family members that live all over the world and they were getting phone calls about the post and residents thought that was pretty cool. It was a great way to bring the community all together with laughter!” – Jamie Bravato, General Manager
Residents offered to trade their toilet paper supply for a perm, for a good book, a Big Mac, a kiss, flowers, and other things that are difficult to come by at this time. One couple offered to trade toilet paper for a Klondike Bar! The post quickly went viral, tallying thousands of likes and shares and hundreds of comments.
True to the spirit of Leisure Care, the Fairwinds – Spokane staff got right to work making these wishes come true. Klondike sent bars to the community and every resident got their wish – and still got to keep the toilet paper!
Now and always, we are committed to the health and well-being of our residents and we do it all with Five Star Fun! Contact Fairwinds – Spokane today to learn more about our community.
