“This morning, when I took my first sip of coffee and said “thank you” out loud. Suddenly I was not grateful for just the coffee, but even more so for that moment of respite. Now I am feeling greedy for more. So, I am now going to indulge in a shortlist of things I am grateful for at the moment: for those who are shoveling all of the snow from our sidewalks; I see Bert, shoveling beneath my window, but am sure there are others, for the food that will be delivered right to my door, today, served by the ever-cheerful servers, and for the kitchen staff that has prepared it, for the housekeeping staff, for their making Woodland Terrace, and our apartments spotless, for the wonderful gals at the offices/front desk, who left us a Valentine’s Day sweet, and who work so very hard to keep us entertained, informed, and cared for Karl, who is on duty 24/7 – as I am sure he doesn’t stop thinking about our welfare when he drives off from Woodland Terrace.
