“Once again, the team at The Village at Mill Landing has outdone themselves in planning an activity for residents and families. I wish to commend all your employees for the wonderful day on October 29 which they provided for your residents and, of course, for all the great candy which was handed out, as I am sure all of the little trick-or-treaters enjoyed. The biggest hit for them was the candy slide. For family members, it was the joy shown on the faces of residents and also the enthusiasm shown by staff members. “My mother has been an Opal resident since November. In this short time, it’s obvious to me why Mill Landing was voted #1 in Rochester. I try to get to know your Opal staff by face & name. “Yesterday, my husband and I took my Dad to an appointment. When we brought my Dad back, several staff members approached us to see what the doctor said. It literally took us 10 minutes to get into his apartment! When we got to his room I joked that I felt like we just went through a welcome home parade. My Dad said to us “all the people here are just like family! “When my dad first moved in, he was having a tough time adjusting (as expected) and Amy went out of her way to visit with him, made an immediate change to his dining table assignment, talk to him so kindly, and reassured him his feelings were normal. She then brought him a golf magazine with Tiger Woods on the cover and a book about the history of the Buffalo Bills – both his favorite player and team! I’m not sure if she spent her own money on this but it was an incredible act of kindness, compassion, and generosity.
