February Fitness Frenzy at Fairwinds – River’s Edge

Fairwinds – River’s Edge independent living recently completed their February Fitness Frenzy, surpassing their fundraising and active minutes goals! Learn more about Leisure Care’s annual February Fitness Frenzy and how Fairwinds – River’s Edge is working hard to improve the area where we live, work, and play.

Every February, Leisure Care communities across the country come together to raise money for philanthropy, support local charities, and give residents and staff a reason to exercise. This year, residents at Fairwinds – River’s Edge participated in a range of fitness activities, including an indoor golf tournament, staff vs. resident beanbag baseball, and other creative ways to be physically active and socially distant. Our residents brought the Five-Star Fun by purchasing strips of duct tape and taping the general manager to a door. The community art class painted a collage and donated it, raising hundreds of dollars for a local charity.

Fairwinds – River’s Edge chose to donate funds to Friends in Serving Him (FISH), a nonprofit agency providing food, clothing, linens, housewares, and care to the needy since 1969. We collected nearly $2,000 and accumulated over 46,000 active minutes, surpassing our fundraising and activity goal!
