At The Linden at Danvers, our community is more than just a place to live. It’s a family of people who come together to take care of each other and live every day with a whole lotta heart. With family and friends, we recently celebrated the life of one of our residents with a journey to New Orleans, honoring her legacy with a Second Line Parade down Bourbon Street. Learn more about how our residents and staff become family.

celebration-life-kathleen-moranThe Linden at Danvers had the honor of celebrating the life of one of Kathleen Moran, one of our residents. Having lived in both our assisted living and memory care community, the resident was well known by Cheryl, our sales advisor, and Jen, our Opal memory care manager.

As a native of New Orleans, the resident requested that her celebration of life be in the city, complete with a Second Line Parade down Bourbon Street. The Second Line Parade is a historically significant New Orleans art form, essentially a processional with a jazz band accompanying the celebration. The ceremony concluded with watching her ashes float down her beloved Mississippi River.

“In our community, this isn’t just a job for our staff members — it’s a passion. Every day they strive to excel at providing support and assistance to our residents with a whole lotta heart. The staff at our community is truly a family, and we work together to exceed the expectations of every single person who walks through our front door. We are welcoming and  friendly and truly get to know each resident and their family on a personal level.” – Shane T., employee

At The Linden at Danvers, we are honored to become the extended family members of our residents, sharing in each other’s joy and grief while celebrating every moment of life’s journey.

Soon after she moved in, the community immediately felt like home and an extended family. As mom’s health began to fail, the love and support that we received from The Linden was extraordinary. They went above and beyond to brighten her days and make her comfortable. We felt such gratitude that her final months/days would be spent in their loving care. So it was natural for us to invite her Linden family/caregivers to join us in New Orleans for mom’s Celebration of Life. As family, we wanted them to be there, despite knowing it was a big ask for them to commit to that travel. However, they didn’t hesitate! They joined us in New Orleans and contributed to her celebration in a profoundly meaningful way. We were so honored to have them in attendance, as we know they were there because their love for my mom was genuine. What a blessing to have discovered this community! They are all amazing and we will always be grateful for their love and support” – Annie B., daughter of resident

The Linden at Danvers is now accepting residents into our assisted living and memory care community. We would love for you to join our family! Contact us today for your tour and see how living with a whole lotta heart can change your life.
