Granger Cobb Institute Visits Murano Senior Living

Alissa Sauer

The largest generation is preparing for retirement. With that comes unique challenges for the ever-changing senior living industry. Murano Senior Living is partnering with the Washington State University Granger Cobb Institute for Senior Living to address some of those issues while raising up a new generation of leaders in senior living.

Partnering with the staff at Carson College at Washington State University (WSU), the Granger Cobb Institute for Senior Living (GCISL) has launched the GCISL Corporate Scholars, a new program that challenges students across interdisciplinary majors to consider the issues facing the senior living industry. The program is open to all WSU juniors who are expecting to graduate in 2023, and selected juniors will receive $1,000 for an immersive internship experience. As seniors, they will receive $3,000 and work on projects related to an issue in senior living.

Murano Senior Living is excited to be partnering with the GCISL Corporate Scholars and recently hosted a cohort of scholars as they lived in the community for three days. During their time at Murano Senior Living, they met with Leisure Care executive leadership and learned about the range of services we offer and the type of careers available in senior living.

Scholars came to us from various backgrounds and studies, including law enforcement, engineering, international business, finance, psychology, human development, and environmental and ecosystem sciences.

We are proud to impact the next generation of senior living leaders, making life better for each generation.
