The Landing of Southampton Senior Volunteer

The Landing of Southampton is proud to support the greater Southampton and Bucks County community. We are committed to the Three-Thirds Lifestyle, which promotes family, community connection, and work (in that order). Take a closer look at how residents at The Landing positively impact the larger Southampton community.

Cultivating Community Connections in Southampton, PA

The Landing of Southampton School Drive Bucks CountyThe residents and staff at The Landing of Southampton assisted living and memory care are always looking for ways to make a positive impact in the area where we live, work, and play. For many of our residents, volunteering and community involvement is a way of life, and that doesn’t stop when they move into a senior living community. Our residents are engaged with the Bucks County community through volunteer events and charity organizations.

We most recently hosted a Back-to-School supply drive for The United Way of Bucks County, helping low-income families in our area send their children back to school with everything they need to be successful.

Benefits of Volunteering for Seniors

At The Landing of Southampton, we believe in the Three-Thirds Lifestyle, where family, community, and work are prioritized – in that order. We encourage our residents and our staff to meaningfully engage with their community, knowing that their involvement matters.

According to the Corporation for National and Community Service, adults over the age of 55 comprise nearly 36% of the nation’s 62.6 million volunteers, and 10% of the volunteers are 75 years old or older. Senior volunteers are making a huge impact in their communities, and there are several benefits seniors can reap from volunteering.

  • Increased feelings of confidence
  • Decreased symptoms of social isolation and depression
  • Increased feelings of independence and usefulness
  • Improved intergenerational relationships
  • Promotes mental health
  • May decrease the risk of dementia and other chronic illness
