International Nights at Markham House

Belly dancer at Markham HouseLife is largely comprised of our stories. At Markham House, we love hearing our resident’s life stories. Each one is so unique and we are proud to have residents and staff from a wide range of backgrounds. It’s important for us to celebrate those backgrounds and to give a voice to our past that creates understanding about our present and our future.

Learning more about each other’s backgrounds and cultures helps us understand each other better. It creates a true sense of community where every person really belongs. Learning about other cultures increases communication and has a tangible impact on care and quality of life.

Every month, our residents and staff gather for a fun and vibrant international night. We decorate our building, we cook ethnic food, play music, and even invite entertainers to perform for us. Most recently we had a Middle Eastern night where we invited a belly dancer. It was a huge hit with our residents and they truly enjoyed learning more about the Middle East, its food, art, and music.

We would love for you to join us for our next international night! Call or stop by today and join us!

Live Big. Live Bold.

Retirement should feel like you’re on a permanent vacation which is exactly why our communities celebrate freedom from obligation, helping you pursue new interests.
