Canfield Place Celebrates St. Patrick's Day

The fun never ends at Canfield Place! We believe that special events and holidays are meant to be celebrated with those you love. For us, that means our residents! Learn more about our St. Patrick’s Day bash complete with traditional food, drink, and even an Irish fiddler.

Canfield Place Resident Tasting Irish BeerOn March 17, our residents and staff dressed head to toe in green to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day. Irish fiddler Molly Dechenne kicked off the party with live entertainment and played a variety of Irish songs to get us in the spirit! Our culinary team provided traditional Irish soda bread, corned beef, cheese and crackers, and Irish cookies.

“I’ve never been to a more fun St. Patrick’s Day party! The Irish fiddler completed it!” Resident Ellen Wilson

We also had an Irish beer tasting and our Program Supervisor Susan Christopher taught us about two different types of Irish beer, George Killian’s Irish Red Lager and Guinness’ famous draught stout. Residents learned how each beer was made and the historical background of beer in Ireland. As residents asked questions, they sampled the different beers and made notes. Some even asked if we could purchase some on our next grocery trip!Staff and Residents at St. Patrick's Day Party

“I loved the beer served at the tasting! I didn’t know there was such a rich history of Irish beer. I would even buy one of them for myself!” – Resident Nancy Middleton

We truly enjoyed celebrating St. Patrick’s Day with our residents and their family members. We understand how important it is to celebrate special holidays as many of our residents no longer have the opportunity to celebrate with a spouse or close friends. By providing fun and engaging programs, our residents continue to enjoy the holidays and make new memories!

We’d love for you to join us for our next event! Call or stop by Canfield Place today to join us!
