At Leisure Care, we know that healthy residents are the happiest residents. PrimeFit, a nationally branded program and leader in senior fitness and wellness, is exclusive to Leisure Care communities, and it is one way we keep our residents focused on health, fitness, and fun. Learn more about PrimeFit and how our senior living communities creatively adapted health and wellness programs to align with social distancing guidelines and regulations.

What is PrimeFit?

We knew that for our fitness program to be successful, it had to be fun, motivating, and convenient – which is why we created PrimeFit! Meeting residents where they are and getting them where they want to go, our signature program is research-backed, effective, and, most of all, FUN! Our residents have access to a wide variety of fitness programs, including personal training, group fitness, and more. All Leisure Care communities offer some or all of the following fitness options:

  • A PrimeFit gym
  • Balance Builders
  • Walking programs
  • Recreational sports
  • Aquatic exercise
  • Holistic services
  • Low-impact exercise

Leisure Care’s well-trained staff creates a customized program that is uniquely tailored to each resident’s interests, abilities, and goals while providing encouragement and motivation every step of the way.

Aligning PrimeFit with Social Distancing Standards

As we began to minimize our activities and scale back our programming, we knew we had to find a way for seniors to stay active while social distancing and following the rapidly developing health protocols.

“My thanks to you and all the members of the staff. Your exercise classes keep me moving!” Doris, Leisure Care resident

“We LOVE that you did exercises in the hall AND posted pictures.  It made Mom happy!” – Michelle W., family member of a Leisure Care resident

Our communities thoughtfully and creatively crafted ways to engage residents and keep them moving. Some communities invited residents on their balconies or porches to participate in a group fitness class as instructors led the class from a parking lot. Others held class in the hallway, and residents participated with doors open. Some provided booklets with no-equipment needed exercises, and still, others created online classes for residents to join from their own home, on their own schedule.

Additionally, all Leisure Care residents have access to the PrimeFit Home Workout Plan. The plan includes ideas on how to warm-up before exercise, upper body and lower body exercises, stretching and even mindfulness and meditation practices.

Our residents keep us on our toes, and we like to keep them on theirs! We are constantly seeking ways to keep our residents moving and active while meeting (and exceeding) safety standards. Contact your local community today to learn how they are creatively serving their residents!

Live Big. Live Bold.

Retirement should feel like you’re on a permanent vacation which is exactly why our communities celebrate freedom from obligation, helping you pursue new interests.
