At Murano Senior Living, we will do whatever it takes to help our residents and their families breath easier. That’s why we have invested in air purifiers to improve the health and wellness of our residents. Learn more about the importance of clean air for seniors and how Murano Senior Living is putting the health of residents first.
Benefits of Air Purifiers for Seniors
Air purifiers are an obvious but important part of health and wellness as they clean and purify the air our residents breathe. Air purifiers can help protect against respiratory complications by removing particles from the air such as smoke, pollen, pet dander, dust, and dangerous bacteria. All of these small particles can add up to larger health problems and lead to medical complications that threaten health. Air purifiers can also help remove triggers for asthma attacks and lessen contamination.
Additional benefits of air purifiers include,
- Improved air circulation that removes dust particles
- Reduction of respiratory diseases and airborne infections
- Elimination of pet dander
- Removal of pollen introduced by indoor and outdoor plants
- Filtration of large airborne particles like hair fibers, dust, debris
- Removal of dust and allergens
How Air Purifiers Reduce Risk of Illness
We know that bacteria and viruses settle on surfaces in our homes, but they can also float in the air where they are inhaled and transmitted between people. Air purifiers can capture those particles and actually sanitize them using Ultraviolet (UV) light, High-Efficiency Particulate Air (HEPA) filters, and ionizers.
Experience Leisure Care Senior Living
HEPA filters are certified to trap up to 99.97% of particles 0.3 micrometers in size. This reduces the number of small particles that carry bacteria and viruses. The UV lamp in the air filters then exposes microbes to UV light which kills them or inactivates them. Then, an ionizer gives the particles an electrical charge, which causes them to clump together and settle out of the air, settling on surfaces that will be easily removed with a disinfectant. The negative ions produced by air purifiers have been shown to improve mood, lessen episodes of depression, and even decrease the risk of seasonal affective disorder.
Clean Air. Sustainable Living.
Residents have always come first at Murano Senior Living, and they always will. As we continue to seek innovative ways to put the health and wellness of our residents first, we have invested in air purifiers to improve the health of residents at Murano Senior Living.
Our recently purchased state-of-the-art filters remove and destroy allergens, dust that can damage the lungs, biological and chemical contaminants, bacteria, viruses, and more. The air passes through a pleated carbon filter which removes lint and large particles. Then, smaller particles pass through another filter. The now clean air passes through a reflection area where two ultraviolet lamps emit rays that kill bacteria before discharging clean air.
Living at Murano Senior Living means making the most of every day. Our pet-friendly community encourages residents to be active, to invest in their gardens, to do whatever helps them live better than ever. However, several of the things we love to do can produce allergens. Pets produce pet dander, gardens produce pollen. With the addition of air purifiers at Murano Senior Living, our residents will continue to do what they love in a healthier way.
It’s all part of our commitment to sustainable senior living at Murano Senior Living. Proud to be a Gold LEED-certified building, Murano Senior Living is committed to improving indoor air quality as well as the air quality of our surrounding environment, promoting better health in our independent living, assisted living, and memory care residents.
