The Landing of Collegeville senior living has established a philanthropic committee to raise awareness and funds for both local and national organizations. Throughout the year, the committee chooses a new organization and then works to support that organization throughout the month. Learn more about our philanthropic committee, “Do Good, Have Fun,” and our upcoming food drive to benefit the Daily Bread Community Food Pantry.

Now, more than ever, local charities need our support. Our committee comprised of staff and residents were inspired by Kid President’s Pep Talk encouraging people to ‘create something that will make the world awesome’. The Committee at The Landing of the Collegeville has raised over $5,000 to support local charities over the past year. One of our largest events was held last fall where we raised over $1,000 for Alzheimer’s research in just a few hours by hosting a Bark in the Park Fundraiser.

Recent months have left many families struggling to make ends meet. Throughout the month of June, we will be raising awareness about the impact of recent events and a global crisis has had on food pantries.

“It makes us feel good to do something for someone else that may need help. We get help here so we would like to pass it forward!” – Norma C., co-chair of Do Good, Have Fun Committee

On June 20, 2020, at 1:00 pm we will be holding a ‘Cruise for Food’ Food Drive to benefit the Daily Bread Community Food Pantry. Participants will decorate their cars with a summer theme to celebrate the first day of summer. Food donations will be dropped off and each donor will be given a picnic basket to enjoy a picnic with their families while following social distancing guidelines.
