The Landing of Collegeville is committed to improving the local area where we live, work, and play. As a result of that commitment and our Three-Thirds Lifestyle, The Landing of Collegeville has established a “Do Good, Have Fun Committee.” Learn more about the philanthropic committee and how residents and staff at The Landing of Collegeville personal care and memory care community raise awareness and funds for the Alzheimer’s Association.
The Landing of Collegeville Focuses on Philanthropy
In October 2019, The Landing of Collegeville launched a philanthropic committee to seek fun and creative ways to support local charities. Inspired by Kid President’s “Pep Talk,” our residents created a resident-led committee to “make the world awesome.”
The first event was a Bark in the Park Fundraiser for Alzheimer’s disease, where residents baked organic dog treats for a Yappy Hour, designed an agility course, and voted on a Howl-o-ween canine contest. The fundraiser was a hit and raised over $1,000 for Alzheimer’s disease research in just a few short hours.
“It makes us feel good to do something for someone else who may need help. We get help here, so we would like to pass it forward.” – Norma C., resident at The Landing of Collegeville
Since the first event, The Landing of Collegeville has raised over $7,000 to support local charities.
The Landing of Collegeville Partners with The Alzheimer’s Association
This June, The Landing of Collegeville senior living will raise awareness and funds for The Alzheimer’s Association by participating in The Longest Day Challenge. The Longest Day is a national movement sponsored by The Alzheimer’s Association, where people worldwide fight the darkness of Alzheimer’s through fundraising activities.
On June 19, The Landing of Collegeville will bake 36 cakes within 24 hours. The cakes will be auctioned off at a Father’s Day Barbecue, held on June 20, the summer solstice where there is the most sunlight in a 24 hour period.
Join The Landing of Collegeville as we do good, have fun, and seek to make the world awesome.
