Travel Club at Markham House

Markham House Travel Club

The Travel Club at Markham House is one of our most popular activities, bringing residents together each month to explore a new country or city right from our community! Learn more about the exciting activities at Markham House and how they contribute to a high quality of life for our residents.

For many seniors, traveling more is a retirement goal. In fact, a 2016 study found that 99% of baby boomers planned to take at least one trip that year, with a few baby boomers planning international travel. However, travel can become more difficult with age. For those seniors that want to learn more about other cities, cultures, and countries from the comforts of home, Markham House has the Travel Club.

Each month, residents, friends, and family gather for our Travel Club. Together, we choose a city or country and then learn more about its main attractions and culture. We watch videos, look at pictures, and discuss the culture and highlights of the chosen location. Residents and families who have traveled to that particular destination share their personal memories and even bring souvenirs from their trip. Travel Club is a great way for seniors to see the world and learn more about different cultures after they have stopped traveling.

Where should we “go” next? Join us for our next Travel Club and share your adventures with us! We’d love to have you!
